And the dawn comes into being...
At once, mine eyes are glazed,
Filled with tears of refreshment,
Marvelling at another day's existence.
Reaching over, I feel the source,
The reason for my continued being,
And I wonder.
What makes one be?
Is it pain?
Is it elation?
Nevermore my feelings cry,
Another day is meant for those woes.
Until then pacified unity is what matters.
Nothing more...
Or is there?
Laying back down I wonder,
Truly what IS what matters?
My hand falls to rest across her beautiful form.
My query a fogged memory,
My eyes again close.
Tears fall to the new dawn.
Sometimes I wonder the most mundane, yet I am fascinated by it all...
So it's Mother's Day today, or as I like to call it, Mama's Day. Why the difference one would ask? Because to me, the term Mother, is one you use for formality. It's almost cold and impersonal really. It brings to my mind thoughts of how you would address her when you really, REALLY needed something. As in, "Mother, dearest woman, I harken to you for a mere moment of your time.....can I have an advance on my allowance?" Not so much, methinks.
That's why I call it Mama's Day, or Ma's Day, or Mom's Day. Something, ANYTHING that isn't so formal and sterile. I mean seriously, your mom knows you inside and out for the most part, (she gave birth to you for crying out loud!!!), and when you talk to her on a routine basis (if you do that is), it's not Mother this, and Mother that - well, unless you are cussing up a storm and that's a pre-cursor to a few choice words (if you get what I mean!). No, it's usually (sigh - okay for ME it's usually) 'Hey Ma!' or 'Momma, I gotta tell ya', and so on.
Not that I have a problem with it being MOTHER'S DAY, I mean I'm glad that it, and Father's Day exist because regardless of this that and the other, they are your parents and they brought you in to this world. It's a chance to at least give 'em thanks for that, right? So with that in mind, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to any and all Mom's, Ma's, Madre's, Momma's, Mommies, etc. You all deserve to be loved and cherished for what you do in this world. Thank you all!
