I just thought I'd comment on the current show I'm working on, The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas. It's my first foray with Winston-Salem Theatre Alliance, and I gotta say, there are some PHENOMENAL peeps in this cast. And by some, I mean all to tell the truth. Everyone in this group is professional, works amazingly hard, and damn if they don't have more talent in all their pinkie fingers than most do in their entire careers!!!
Seriously, this show is going to be amazing (I can feel it in my bones)! I can only say I am more than proud to be a part of it, and more than amazed to be playing with such an amazing group of people! Ya'll shouldn't miss out on this one. Serious, get your tix now. You'll be amazed!!!!
So yeah, spent the past weekend filming a movie. It's all about characters in a child's imagination. I played a stereo-typical sheriff cowboy who smokes cigars all the time. LOVED IT! The production crew was awesome, the cast was amazing, the hospitality was beyond wonderful; I mean, if you didn't have fun filming this movie, you just don't know how to have fun! I can hardly wait to see the finished product. The name of the film is Red Revolver. The director/co-writer was Keenan Porterfield. Pay attention to that name, yo. When I star in his first and most assured award winning pro-film, ya'll will remember it started back when! HAHAHAHA Much love

I was out with that certain, special, wonderful someone this eve/morn and we were talking. And somehow, someway (gee I wonder), the insanity brought us to the topic of "back in the day". I told her of my intricate and wonderful (albeit unknown) works that I produced in my childhood bedroom (grounded for grades....thanks Ma!) utilizing my GI Joe action figurines as the actors.
Augh! I realized the simple beauty of those times tonight as she and I spoke. I mean, seriously, those were the times! Along with my other groups of figurines, there was some crazy politcal mumbo jumbo back then for me in my world. The He-Man group hated the Centurions (only because they were taller), the Centurions were after the Go-bots because they wanted their land (at the time, next to the footboard of my bed, which included access to the 'turntable of doom' a.k.a my record player), the Go-bots had beef with Cobra because originally (again, this was MY world all you staunch purists) Destro was a Go-bot before figuring out how to permanantly stay in 'human-like' transformed mode, and of course all groups were ruled over by the sparce GI Joe squad trying to keep peace. I say sparce because I only made $2.50 a week in allowance, which bought 'a' (as in one) GI Joe at the time.
So anyways, as we talked, I revelled in the fact that back then my imagination had no bounds and no limitations. I mean, how many kids do you know that can limit their bedroom space with a spool of sewing thread and some scotch tape? It was a really cool figurine 'hand slide' transportation system by my design that rocked! I mean, besides the fact it practically left me limbo-ing to and from the door, that is. Now other than the gigantor mess, can you imagine not having to pay the 40 bucks a gallon these days to drive to work? You just reach up, grab a line and ZING! You're at work just like that!
Hmmm.... imagination with no bounds and no limitations. Maybe its time to go 'retro' and get back to those days. I seem to remember a whole lot less stress then. Leaves one to wonder...
Some say it just happens,
Some say it takes work,
Some say it doesn't exist.
And yet, it's written about;
Countless novels, lyrics, and tales.
It's oft sought after,
Yet rarely discovered...
The Golden Mines of King Solomon.
So precious,
But priceless.
So tender,
And yet durable.
That funky, finatical feeling,
Flowing forward,
Flying far,
Fabulously Phenomenal!
And how sad it is,
That few ever experience,
The amazing, glorified goodness
That is only known by four arranged letters.
L-O-V-E.
Often mistaken,
Taken for granted,
Forgotten over time,
Lost in the lamentation of lust,
It somehow finds a way to survive.
For me, it burns anew.
A torch that has become a bonfire,
Engulfing me in feelings I never knew existed.
Wave after wave of sensations,
Personal humanity, long forgotten, returning.
Better than even the best of fireworks shows!
Sweet peace and blissful harmony surrrounding...
And to this I can only add, for those who have yet to experience or discover, never give up hope. It's out there, somewhere. Sometimes you just have to take that special leap. The worst that happens, you fall. And trust me, the ground will catch you. You stand up, dust off, and try again. Don't rush, don't push. You'll know it when its there. ---True is in the sky---

So just to let you know how exciting life can get for me, today I'm posting a small critique on the newest Burger King offering, the loaded steakhouse burger. After working a call and on my way to see that someone special, I realized I hadn't eaten yet today (God knows how long its been since I've EVER forgotten to eat!). Anyways, I decided to try this new burger.
In a nutshell, imagine if you will, a burger with mash potatoes on it, slathered in steak sauce. Now contrary to what you might be thinking, it wasn't half bad. I'd say fair enough to call it "better than a poke in the eye". Of course it wasn't worth writing home about either.....wait.....

Its the little things in life that make you appreciate everything. Tonight I came home from work (Davis Cup Strike - too much fun!) and I was greeted by the presence of someone special. Nothing like that feeling!!! If you don't know what I mean, you should experience it sometime. There's just a harmony and a peace that can't be beat! Makes all the BS you put up with all day, all the more worth your while. Ahh, the sanctity of sappy, sweet serenity...

So I went out to my gig today, as an audio tech for The Davis Cup. Things worthy of making a blog entry were: watching Andy Roddick live and up close. Man that guy can serve! I also got to see James Blake play which was cool. Both guys won their matches putting the USA team up 2-0 against the French team. Other than that, there was a minor malfunction with the announcer's mic, as well as an audio blooper involving the beginning of the US National Anthem during match play, but nothing too crazy. One thing I noticed, some of these tennis players are kind of small in person, but they have larger than life personas. Probably going to be watching Match Point (funny joke in that somewhere....I'm sure of it!!!) which is a Woody Allen movie tonight. Hope it's good! Thanks for listening....oops I mean reading. ~M~
